The Estonian governing domains valimised. ee, valitsus. ee, riigikantselei. ee and ria. ee are now protected by Domain Name Feature Security Extensions (DNSSEC). The state zaguán eesti. ee was signed by having a security extension in January 2014.

DNSSEC protects Web and domain owners by giving security that the user has not been unwittingly redirected to another page from the page they certainly were trying to reach. While the web pages at Estonia’s state authorities have not gone through large-scale DNS problems to date, teaching DNSSEC will help to avoid them further going forward.

A video has been made to elucidate DNSSEC technology and its importance with domain owners. Owners of webshops and other web pages that handle “delicate” data and/or money, in particular, should be thinking about implementing DNSSEC. The video is available in Native, Russian and Estonian.

Implementation of the DNSSEC security off shoot is coordinated by the Estonian Globe Foundation, which has created the necessary laws and infrastructure. The DNSSEC airport security extension service is intermediated with domain registrants by the registrars, i really. e. domain registration service providers. More information on how to implement the DNSSEC online system for your own domain can be found on the Foundation’s home page.
